On this day last year, Happy Little Clouds finished up recording our album in the studio up in Maine. (Yeah, we're slackers, haha.) It was the summer solstice, which is pretty significant to our first track on the album, "Beneath."  Here it is for your listening pleasure. Enjoy

Happy Little Clouds couldn’t be more fired up to release our brand new and very first studio album, "Shift.” We've invited some of our favorite people to help us put on an amazing show for you. We have BRAND NEW MUSIC to give to you, AMAZING LOCAL BANDS, LOCAL ARTISTS, POETRY, and an ART AUCTION all benefitting a really great cause: Girls Rock Campaign Boston

Please RSVP here

#happylittleparty2016

We wanted to give back to the amazing creative community we've been a part of, and do something special that helps the art and music scenes thrive here in the Greater Boston area, so we're having LIVE ART being made by local artists during the show and you'll be able to buy the very same art in an ART AUCTION we'll have toward the end of the show.

Proceeds from the art auction will be given to:
1) Girls Rock Campaign Boston &
2) Back to the artists to help them continue making art or at least help cover the cost of materials for this show and a well-deserved beer.

Visiting from Worcester we’ll have POETRY between music sets from our Emcees, Nick & Alex (who you might recognize from the most rad Monday night you’ve ever had in Worcester, The Dirty Gerund Poetry Show) Not only will they be hosting the show, but they will be slamming you with their witty words as well as auctioneering the live art for you to buy. Bring some cash with you for the auction and let’s raise some money for a great cause.

THE GREAT CAUSE:
Girls Rock Campaign Boston (GRCB) is a non-profit organization with a mission to empower girls to believe in themselves by providing a supportive community that fosters self-expression, confidence and collaboration through musical education and performance. GRCB works to encouraged to sing out, speak out and make a lot of noise! Find out more about LRCB and GRCB at our website: www.girlsrockboston.org

You’ll be able to donate to GRCB during the show (our Emcees will walk around with buckets), at the art auction, or at their merch table, so bring cash! If you donate more than $5, you'll get some FREE merch from Happy Little Clouds. That's how much we love GRCB. See details below!

THE BANDS:
Happy Little Clouds [ALBUM RELEASE]
happylittleclouds.com
Happy Little Clouds is a Boston-based indie rock band whose songs will stick with you rain or shine. The band’s unfiltered, heartfelt lyrics are layered over bluesy vocals, a vintage rock sound, and catchy melodies. On their debut album, "Shift," premiering the day of this show, July 9, 2016, produced by Portland, Maine's legend Jonathan Wyman, Happy Little Clouds captures the emotional rollercoaster of discovering love and lust while on the journey for inner truth and that moment of nostalgia that occurs right before your journey begins and everything changes forever. Hop in and join them for the ride, and don’t touch the radio dial.

The Rationales
https://www.facebook.com/TheRationales/
Residing in the overlap between Alternative, Rock, Indie, Powerpop, and Americana on the Venn Diagram, The Rationales bring to mind such acts as Wilco, Radiohead and Nada Surf, while always sounding entirely like themselves.

PowerSlut
https://www.facebook.com/powerslutband
PowerSlut combines lyrical dexterity with honest and raunchy rock n' roll, then packs it into a miniskirt and sneakers and shoots it all over your face. Their debut album "With Great Power Comes Great Slut," produced by Joel Simches of Watch City Studios, was released on July 3.

The Knock Ups
https://www.facebook.com/TheKnockUps
Formed in 2012 The Knock Ups are a female fronted, self proclaimed GLAM punk band. Bringing back the energy and sound of the riot grrrl movement. They just rocked out in Boston’s highly-acclaimed Rock and Roll Rumble in April.

THE LIVE ARTISTS:
Dug McCormack (from Psychic Dog)
Leilani Roser (from Hammer and Snake)
Amber Tortorelli

THE EMCEES/AUCTIONEERS/POETS:

Ever wonder about the origins of the cloud?

One day before a show (this was a few years ago now), we realized our usual computer print out cloud was no more. It must have gotten ripped coming back from a previous show.

So about 20 minutes before we were set to leave for our show that night, Jac insists that we need something for the drum head so people know who we are. Scurrying around the practice space, Jac finds an X-acto knife and a large piece of oak-tag that must have been used for an old spray paint project by whoever used to own the practice space.
Side note: The practice space is truly magical and always seems to produce the tools we need for our various random ideas. Best little shit hole in Boston!

On the first try, Jac cuts out the very cloud formation we still use to this day! It's getting a bit worn now, so maybe it's time to invest in a vinyl one soon, but I kind of like the rough, home-made quality it gives us.

Stay happy.
